Thanks to this particular event, Magadino has become a well known location for the best organ music.
Founded at the beginning of the sixties, when similar organ music events were still rare, the Magadino festival has become an important reference both at a National and International level. Thanks to the many possibilities offered by the Mascioni organ (built in 1951 and then modified by Mascioni himself, featuring 2,300 pipes and boasting some 40 registers), the Magadino Festival continues to offer its complete overview of the existing organ canon.
The presence of famous musicians along with young talents, in addition to courageous experiments juxtaposing the organ alongside other instruments, instrumental bands and choirs, assure an amazingly varied programme year after year which always attracts a large, faithful audience.
